About this property

Tintagel 1 mile.

A warm and welcoming stone-built miller's residence in St Nectan's Glen, a wooded valley and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, below the hamlet of Bossiney. Surrounded by 20 acres of garden and woodland, with walks through the trees and down Rocky Valley (NT) to the sea and Bossiney Cove on the doorstep. This typical Cornish cottage is comfortable and spacious with beamed ceilings, exposed stonework and a woodburner. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 981, 982 and 983, together they sleep 13.

Tintagel is dominated by the magnificent ruins of King Arthur's Castle which lie on the cliffside outside the town. The sea, secluded coves and spectacular scenery dominate the area, and a number of superb beaches, including Trebarwith Strand, are easily reached for surfing, swimming and sunbathing. The town offers pubs and restaurants and the National Trust owned Old Post Office. Walkers will love the SW coast path which goes right through Tintagel then winds its way in both directions along the cliff tops through stunning countryside, before meandering down to the water's edge. The pretty village of Boscastle with its charming quay and village pubs is 2.5 miles north, and if you venture further afield you will find the surfing resort of Bude; the wild open spaces of Bodmin Moor; the incredible biospheres of the Eden Project; Padstow and its famous restaurants, and much more.

The cottage is as you see it on the website. It is immaculately clean, comfortable and warm. The living room would benefit from a table lamp or two as there are only ceiling lights and the kitchen was missing a few handy gadgets. However, it has all the appliances that you may need. All in all I would recommend Miller's Cottage as a tranquil setting with easy access to Rocky Valley and the coast path.

The location is breathtaking and highly recommended. The house itself is great, but needs some updating - new sofa and chairs wouldn’t go amiss, and the main lounge area would benefit from a lamp. These are minor quibbles though - our holiday was wonderful and the seclusion and peacefulness of the glen is really something.

Great location, easy access to coastal path by walking. The cottage is actually far better than the photos shown on the website, spacious, comfortable. We like the paintings of R Evans. Definitely will go back again.
