The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being spotless and tidy. This suggests that guests consistently find the property well-maintained.

The location is highly commended for its proximity to the New Forest, coastal areas, and local attractions. Guests appreciate the direct access to walking and cycling routes, as well as the tranquil setting.

Comfort is frequently noted, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, one mention of the property being a little tired suggests there may be room for minor improvements.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and garden. Some concerns about Wi-Fi and TV signal issues, as well as a steep staircase, slightly affect the score.

While the host is mentioned for being welcoming and helpful, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the host, so a score cannot be given in this category.

The owner Sue is in the house next door and was very welcoming and helpful. It's in a quiet location and has everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The entrance is a wonderful big room for muddy boots and wet coats. Also downstairs is a kitchen diner with patio doors onto a lovely secluded garden. A cosy sitting room with views across the countryside, a bedroom with a view into the garden and a bathroom are reached by the stairs which are quite steep. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the New Forest, we mostly left the car behind in the area in front of the house which is very secure, and headed off into the local countryside (OS map OL22). It's ideal country for cyclists and walkers. Lots to see and do in the area. Across the road, beyond Hatchet Pond the remains of a WWII aerodrome are still evident on the landscape if local history is of interest. The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and Exbury Gardens are a short distance away. We took a trip to nearby Lymington, a charming little town on the river. The Turfcutters Arms in East Boldre is an excellent pub with a wonderful atmosphere and great beer and food. Highly recommended. There is also a small shop in East Boldre for odds and ends. It has moved to Chapel Lane from the main road. Otherwise, there is Tesco at Hythe for shopping.

We particularly appreciate the secure parking and enjoyed the daily visits from Boris, the owners little dog. The owner is always on hand should you experience any issues with the property. Plenty to see and do in the area.
