Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as immaculate and very well maintained. One review noted cobwebs, but this seems an isolated comment amidst overall high standards.

The location is celebrated for its peace and quiet, with easy access to local attractions. Some guests mention the rural roads, but the tranquillity and proximity to Northumberland's offerings are seen as major pluses.

Numerous reviews highlight the comfort of the cottage, particularly the bed and the log burner. The spaciousness and cosiness of the property contribute to a relaxing stay.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped. Some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, such as attention to the grounds and difficulty finding instructions for electrical goods.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome packs and dog treats. While these are appreciated, it is noted that such gestures are subject to change and not guaranteed for every stay.

The Percy Family, who took over the castle in 1332, is entwined with the history of the community and the castle. The second house of the Percys is adjacent Alnwick Castle, which was lately connected with Harry Potter as the film site of Hogwarts School. Comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing week.

The location is perfect if you like to be away from it all for total relaxation. Rural setting but only a short drive to Warkworth and Amble and from there the whole of the coastal route. The property has a huge enclosed garden area for dogs. We were also met with a much appreciated bottle of wine and we were kept well informed by Ali of key information, etc. Three nights is not long enough though!

Ali was a brilliant host too! Thank you. Very quiet area with gated gardens, perfect for the dog.
