You can also spend time exploring the walking trails in the city, while the River Stour offers lovely boat trips. You have Whitstable, Herne Bay and Margate all within driving distance along with Folkstone harbour and the cliffs of Dover.

It was real relaxation. We didn't get great weather and we were cold at one point but we needn't have worried as, apart from the wood burner, there's an electric heater. Two pubs within walking distance - and lovely walks too.
