Reviewers consistently mention the cleanliness of the property, highlighting it as very clean and tidy, which indicates a high standard of cleanliness maintained by the hosts.

The property's location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to walking trails and local pubs. It is described as remote and peaceful, ideal for a countryside getaway, though the remoteness may not suit everyone.

Comfort is frequently noted, with guests finding the barn cosy and well-equipped. The presence of a log burner and underfloor heating are particularly appreciated, contributing to a comfortable stay.

About this property

This beautiful, stone, barn conversion enjoys stunning, uninterrupted countryside views, set in the grounds of a working dairy farm 1400ft above sea level, and situated in the heart of rural Derbyshire, lying above the village of Chelmorton to the west and the historic village of Taddington to the east. This delightful cottage is an ideal romantic getaway for a couple wishing to explore the glorious Peak District. Beautifully appointed throughout, the accommodation is all on the ground floor. This lovingly restored conversion features flagged floors and exposed roof beams combined with natural wood furniture, creating a cosy welcoming ambience with contemporary style soft furnishings. The cottage offers a tastefully decorated bedroom and a stylish bathroom with power shower. Enjoy the open plan living space with a designer kitchen, dining area and comfortable sofa where you can snuggle up together and marvel the glorious views from the full length window - you may even get the resident sheep looking in to say hello! Outside, the patio provides a great spot to sit out with a glass of what you fancy and enjoy panoramic views of the stunning rolling countryside. This is the perfect place to spend some quiet time, however, if you wish to pull on your walking boots, there are extensive walks with the Limestone Way on the doorstep. There is a stable and secure bike storage, so you are very well catered for whatever you ride. The owner runs dry-stone walling courses, so you could give it a try and to stay during lambing season is a sheer joy. Take a short drive to discover the spa town of Buxton, market town of Bakewell and the historic Chatsworth House, as well as many other attractions the Peak District National Park has to offer. This lovely cottage is the ideal base to relax at any time of the year.

The ancient, picturesque and peaceful village of Chelmorton is situated in the heart of the Peak National Park. The village boasts a lovely pub which serves excellent food. Chelmorton has a fascinating historic landscape of 'fossil' arable strips enclosed within drystone walls and the village has a lovely medieval church of St John the Baptist.

Everything was perfect and we hope to be back very soon!

Our hosts, Mark and Caroline were attentive but not intrusive and we were very grateful for the generous hamper left for us. Also their kindness in getting us some eggs from a neighbouring farm - altogether a very relaxing break.

A very friendly welcome from Mark and Caroline. The barn was lovely and a very generous welcome pack of essentials awaited us. The “farmyard experience out of this world with the sheep and new lambs, a beautiful horse , cockerels and not forgetting the donkeys next field along! Numerous tracks to explore right from the doorstep and a pub doing great meals just a short stroll away! Definitely one of the very best breaks we’ve had and would definitely recommend a visit. Thank you Mark and Caroline
